About Terrameritavi
Last updated October 22, 2026
Terrameritavi publishes free, plain-English guides for adults 60 and over, and for the family members who help them. We cover the questions that come up most often in later life: staying active and well, eating well on any budget, Medicare and Social Security, making a fixed income go further, and staying safe at home and online.
Why we started
Rules for Medicare, Social Security and benefit programs change every year, and the official explanations can be hard to follow. Health advice online is often written to sell something. We wanted a calm, trustworthy place where readers can understand one topic at a time, see where the information came from, and know what to ask their doctor, pharmacist or a free counselor next.
What you will find here
- Healthy living: gentle exercise, sleep, hearing, vision and everyday wellbeing
- Nutrition: simple, affordable ways to eat well
- Mind and wellbeing: connection, purpose and coping with change
- Medicare: how the parts work, enrollment periods and help paying costs
- Social Security and retirement: claiming decisions, taxes and budgeting
- Savings and benefits: discounts, assistance programs and smart spending
- Home and safety: fall prevention, scams, emergencies and planning ahead
Our principles
- Plain language. We explain terms instead of assuming you know them.
- Official sources first. We check facts against sources such as Medicare.gov, SSA.gov, IRS.gov, the National Institutes of Health and the CDC, and we list them at the end of every guide.
- No hype. We do not promise cures, guaranteed savings or "secret" benefits.
- Independent. Terrameritavi is not affiliated with Medicare, the Social Security Administration or any government agency, and advertisers do not influence what we write.

Important note
Our guides are general information. They are not medical, legal, tax or financial advice, and they cannot take your personal situation into account. Please talk with a qualified professional before making decisions about your health or money.
